Homework:  Any student who did not complete the “Jigsaw Literary Analysis” Annotations graphic organizer must finish tonight and be ready to turn in at the beginning of class on Wednesday.


Period 8-4

Please click here for today’s learning activities.

  • Students finished posting their discussion topic (from the menu of three choices in Canvas) to the discussion board in Canvas.
  • Today we completed our plot structure graphic organizer.  Students who finished early moved ahead to the “Jigsaw Lit Analysis” graphic organizer activity.

Homework:  any student who did not complete his/her plot structure graphic organizer in class must do so for homework.  Due tomorrow at the beginning of class.


Period 8-5

Today students had the entire class period to complete the plot structure graphic organizer for the story we read yesterday, “Names/Nombres.”  This task was was due at the end of class.  However, only a few students finished.  Those who did not must complete for homework and have ready to turn in at the beginning of 6th.

Students who finished early worked on meeting their 15 minute weekly goal of Membean mastery.


Period 8-6

Today students had the entire class period to complete the plot structure graphic organizer for the story we read yesterday, “The Medicine Bag.”  This task was was due at the end of class.

1.  Read the story.

2.  Complete the Guided Reading Questions for the story.

3.  Complete the assessment questions 1-4 ONLY.  Type an “X” in the box for Question #5.

4.  DO NOT complete the discussion questions.  Type an X in the box for each discussion question and then submit your work.  I am only grading the assessment questions (multiple choice) 1-4.

5.  Go to the “Discussions” section of Canvas and complete the discussion prompt.  Keep the story open in CommonLit, please.

6.  When you finish Items 1-6, see Ms.  Hamilton for the plot diagram graphic organizer and begin working on that task; we will finish in class tomorrow.
