Period 8-1

  1.  Warm-Up: Milestones Content Focus
  2.   15 Minutes of Membean
  3.  Morning News/Announcements; Reminder that Picture Money and/or Packets Are  Due Friday, March 6
  4.  Review Notes Below in slideshow
  5.  Begin Treasure Hunt for Reasons to Support Your Assigned Claim
  6.  Small groups debrief findings for the day
  7.  Turn in today’s work to Ms. Hamilton
  8.  Turn in the text set folder with articles organized neatly to Ms. Hamilton.

Periods 8-4

  1. Warm-Up: Milestones Content Focus
  2.   Review Notes Below in slideshow
  3.  Begin Treasure Hunt for Reasons to Support Your Assigned Claim
    A.  Read as many articles you can–we are skimming and scanning.
    B.  As you finish an article, write a 3-4 sentence summary on your first graphic organizer.
    C.  As you encounter or come up with ideas for reasons from the articles that will support your claim, write the reason and article number on graphic organizer #2.
  4.  Turn in the text set folder with articles organized neatly to Ms. Hamilton.

Periods 8-5 and 8-6

  1. Warm-Up: Milestones Content Focus
  2.   Review Notes Below in slideshow
  3.  Skim and Scan Article Text Sets
    A.  Read as many articles you can–we are skimming and scanning.
    B.  As you finish an article, write a 3-4 sentence summary on your first graphic organizer.
    C .  Choose another article (they do not have to be in numerical order) and repeat the process.
  4.   “Everyone Up” Share Out of Favorite Article from Today (5th period only)
  5. Turn in the text set folder with articles organized neatly to Ms. Hamilton.
