Today we took our 2nd assessment in Membean for this quarter.  Students who needed to finish the benchmark today also had time to do so.

Other learning activities for today:

Tomorrow I will be providing treats for our last day before the break and for our reading day with our books.  Please have your child bring a bottle of water or his/her hydroflask.

It’s not too late to purchase a book from our Amazon classroom wish list!  Help purchase a book so that each child gets his/her first choice of a book for our January literary nonfiction and memoir book club!

• Today we completed our 2nd quarter district benchmark.
• Tomorrow we will do our class spelling bee and take our last 2nd quarter Membean assessment.
• Thursday will be a reading day with holiday treats provided by Ms. Hamilton.
• If you would like to purchase a book or books from our “Literary Memoir and Nonfiction” class wish list for our upcoming January book clubs, please do!  These books will be used to hopefully give each child his/her first choice (we voted earlier this month) and then become part of the classroom library.

Homework tonight:  read library book 15 minutes and practice Membean if needed.

Note:

Today we took the first part of the district Quarter 2 benchmark test.  Students completed the multiple choice and most started the tone paragraph question.  A few students were able to begin planning for the informational essay.

We will complete the benchmark test tomorrow.

We will be taking our Membean assessment on Wednesday; students should practice Membean if they have computer access at home or you allow them to use it on their phones.
