Today we spent the class period sampling a wide range of nonfiction books—literary nonfiction, memoirs, and autobiographies.  Students will finish sampling tomorrow and vote for their top three choices.  We will use these votes to form book clubs for January.

Here is a snapshot of our week.  Attendance is critical in this short month of December, so please be here!

  • Monday:  Literary Nonfiction and Memoir Book Sampling
  • Tuesday:  Finish book sampling/vote on top 3 choices/Quickwrite 3, Cycle 3 drafting
  • Wednesday:  Finish Quickwrite 3/Book Fair/Membean
  • Thursday:  Library book reading day
  • Friday:  Response to your library book (will take most of the period)

We will take our next Lexile measurement with the SRI assessment a week from today, Monday, December 9.  Our district benchmark will be December 16 and 17.  Next week we will review and complete some learning activities and writing tasks to prepare for the assessment.
