Today ALL classes made significant progress on our revision strategies.  Students were able to pick and choose the remaining revision strategies/stations they felt would help them best move forward with their work.

Here is a look at the upcoming week:

  • Monday, 9/16:  Revising and polishing the final draft of our “Extended Narrative–Continuing the Story” writing assignment
  • Tuesday, 9/17:  Finish final draft; turn in process work (station work, printed rough draft, story planners) using the checklist I will provide you.
  • Wednesday, 9/18:  Common Assessment on Short Story Reading Skills in Common Lit
  • Thursday, 9/19:  Annotation strategies mini-lesson; begin reading “Thank You Ma’m” by Langston Hughes in Common Lit and completing the assigned tasks in Common Lit.
  • Friday, 9/20:  Finish “Thank You Ma’m” assignment in Common Lit and begin working on “Thank You Ma’am” Story Analysis Brochure

You should continue reading your independent reading library book /choice reading at home and during PUSH days.  You’ll be completing a mini-project on the book of your choice at the end of the month.
